What is Bing Places?
Bing Places for Business is the Bing search engine equivalent of Google My Business. Although Bing has far less user market share than Google it remains a very viable search engine to find new customers.
Bing Places for Business is a free service and opportunity to showcase your business on the Bing search engine and Bing Maps. Bing Places for Business should be high on your list of sites to use for improving local search marketing.
Adding Your Business to Bing
- Create or claim your listing. There is a strong chance that Bing Places already has a listing for your business which you can claim. If not, there is an easy step-by-step process to create a listing. If your company has multiple locations there is a convenient bulk upload tool.
- Complete and optimize your listing. Providing complete, detailed information about your business helps you to inform and persuade potential customers. From location information and hours of operation, to info and photos about your products and services, a complete profile is a better profile. One option to make the process easier is to import your business information from your Google My Business listing.
- Verify your business listing. Bing will mail a letter to your business address which provides a verification PIN. Simply login to your unverified listing, add the PIN, and your listing should be live in 2-3 days. If there is a need to hide your business address you can select an option for your address to not be displayed.
