Per the American Marketing Association, “a brand is a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.” In marketing, the act of “branding” relates to strategies, tactics, and tasks used to develop a unique and favorable identity for a product or service. Branding ultimately serves to develop consumer perceptions of goods or services, position goods, and services in the minds of consumers, and drive acceptance, adoption, and purchasing.
